I just love this scene so much! I adore the character growth shown here with Isabela. After the Qunari attack she goes into hiding almost for 3 years (with it implied that she cannot handle the stark comparison between herself and Hawke) and when she appears again after all of this time she is obviously suffering from an enormous amount of guilt. It’s so unlike Isabela to be so self loathing and I cherish this moment it because it shows how being with Hawke has made her grow as a person. Hawke’s duel with the Arishok changed Isabela and you can see just how much she has changed in this scene. I also love supportive Hawke, it just makes me happy to know that romanced or not, Isabela has a friend out there to look after her :)
